    (ANI)

Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been directed to keep strict check on departures at international airports to avoid possible trafficking of girls and children who have gone missing during the floods in the country.

Sources told the Daily Times that so far around 16 cases of missing girls from different parts of the country, including Nowshera, Muzafargarh and Multan, had been reported to the concerned authorities.

Interior Ministry sources were quoted as saying that data on girls and children who had been missing was being collected.

The sources added that they anticipated receiving more cases as the floodwaters start to recede.

According to sources, the bodies of some of the missing people have already been found. In some cases, entire families went missing.

Meanwhile, non-government organizations (NGOs) are said to be working for the betterment of women, and are collecting relevant data. (ANI)
