Walcott's 'pink' shoes for Egypt friendly had Capello seeing 'red'

    (ANI)

England winger Theo Walcott was reportedly under fire from manager Fabio Capello for wearing pink shoes for the friendly international against Egypt played on March 4.

Walcott had put on a bright pink-coloured Nike pair for the game, and it is believed that an angry Capello yelled: "Mamma mia! Take-a them off pronto!"

"He went mad. The fact they were pink seemed to wind Fabio up. He couldn't believe an England player would want to wear pink boots on international duty," News of World quoted a source, as saying.

According to reports, following a dressing room sermon, Walcott had to change his shoes to a white pair with pink flashes.

"Fabio's a traditionalist. Pink was too much for him and he let Theo have it with both barrels," the source added. (ANI)
